When should you contact an ENT doctor?

Symptoms from the ear, throat or nose often seem insignificant, but sometimes it is early consultation that helps to avoid a chronic process.

Throat congestion

You should consult an ENT doctor not only when the pain becomes severe. Nasal congestion, frequent sinus infections, recurrent otitis media, tinnitus, or persistent hoarseness may be signs of conditions that require evaluation.

Symptoms that should not be delayed

  • difficult nasal breathing for more than a few days;
  • pain or congestion in the ear;
  • frequent tonsillitis or tonsillitis;
  • hoarseness of voice for more than two weeks;
  • discharge from the nose or ears with an unpleasant odor.

At the appointment, the doctor conducts an examination, if necessary, endoscopy, audiometry or other examinations. It helps not just to remove the symptom, but to find its cause.
